PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) Facial Injections

PRP facial injection is a procedure that uses the patient's own blood to concentrate platelets in the plasma. It is used to support tissue regeneration. PRP facials rejuvenate the face by hijacking the body's natural healing processes. The platelet-rich plasma is injected directly into the middle layer of the skin through superficial microinjections into the target tissues. PRP improves overall skin texture, decreases the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles around the mouth and eyes, and plumps hollowing areas such as tear trough grooves, cheeks, and temples. Microneedling is often done with PRP to stimulate new collagen production.

What are the pros and cons of PRP injections?

Pros

  • Platelet-rich plasma treatment can regenerate tissues and rejuvenate skin.

  • Topical applications of PRP can also enhance the results of other cosmetic treatments.

  • The plasma comes from your own body, so there’s little to no risk of an allergic reaction.

  • Downtime is minimal and side effects are typically mild, with just a few days of bruising, swelling, and redness at the injection site.

  • Due to its versatility, PRP can be combined with most other skin rejuvenation treatments, to enhance overall results.

Cons

  • As with any injection, you may have some soreness and inflammation at the injection site for a few hours after your PRP treatment.

  • Results aren't permanent; you'll need maintenance treatments to continue seeing the benefits. The frequency of repeat treatments varies, but it’s commonly done 2-3 times a year, which can get expensive over time. (Recommended to purchase package)
